Things happening with the youth

There has been a whirlwind of activity happening here at the Youth Leadership Program. Whether it is from learning about themselves, discovering their individuality or helping others. The youth members have been hard at work discovering that their actions impact not only themselves but as well as others. Along the way they discover that learning new things can also provide fun and exciting memories.

The focus of the themes are to ensure that they learn about things that can help them succeed in the future. The themes from week 1 to week 4 are as follows:
Week 1: Self awareness- Learn and be comfortable in your own skin
Week 2: Teamwork- After grasping who they are as individual, they must now bring forth their individual talent into a team oriented setting.
Week 3: Volunteering- An often important aspect in preparing the youth in the important of selfless duties to gain experience in helping others.
Week 4: Goal Setting- In order to succeed in prioritizing what is important for them. To differentiate the goals to help them in their future endeavors.

These first 4 weeks have been a learning experience for the youth. It has also been fun being involved in activities such as cooking, rowing, sailing, out trips and more. There are more excitement ahead for the summer courtesy of the Youth Leadership Program.
